Technology company donates pallets of food products to help feed Oklahomans in need

Oklahoma is the sixth hungriest state in the nation, with one in six Oklahomans living with hunger. ePallet (www.epallet.com) recently addressed this need with a shipment of 30,000 pounds of food products to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, the state’s largest hunger-relief organization.

“We provide enough food to feed more than 136,000 hungry Oklahomans every week, 37 percent of whom are children,” said Cathy Nestlen, PR & Marketing Manager for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. “This generous donation will provide 2,500 meals for chronically hungry children, seniors on fixed incomes and hardworking families throughout central and western Oklahoma.”

Since the beginning, ePallet has always been about giving everyone access to affordable, quality food, and, when people are going hungry, it just makes sense to do our part.

James Kwon, CEO

According to James Kwon, ePallet CEO, the reason for the donation was simple. “We wanted to make an immediate impact even as we build a solution to fix the food supply chain,” Kwon said. “By donating, we are just following the great example set by the food industry and doing our small part to help people. With their long history of serving the community, the work being done by the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is incredibly inspiring.”

Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, ePallet offers a new approach to the traditional supply chain where layers of middlemen typically add markups of 10 percent to 40 percent. With its artificial intelligence (AI) driven platform, buyers can purchase affordable, quality food in pallet quantities from a wide range of trusted, global and local brands.

“Since the beginning, ePallet has always been about giving everyone access to affordable, quality food,” Kwon said. “And, when people are going hungry, it just makes sense to do our part.”
